... overheard on a discussion about the VA massacre [Apr. 19th, 2007|02:20 pm]
"I seriously wish there was such a thing as a World of Warcraft
intervention. No, the other kind. The one where you get people who are
likely to commit murder hooked on WoW.

If he'd been leveling alts, he wouldn't have time to shoot anyone."

As I start to get older, I start hearing my family and friends chime in with the "when are you gonna get married?" and "when are you gonna have kids?" song and dance. From my friends who've never left Tampa, I've also gotten the blank stares when I mention I still play video games.

Play lots of them, in fact.

I went to an all-girls school, where girls where encouraged to be morally-upright young ladies who studied the liberal arts, and other traditional things. The girls that stayed in town have for the most part all gotten married and/or had kids by now. And there's nothing wrong with that - mind you we're in our mid 20s by now. (If anything, now is the perfect time to have kids, from a physical standpoint.)

This excellent article neatly sums up how I feel about my life, my gaming, and my attitude towards those "friends".
